Delaware’s innovation ecosystem is built on the belief that the best ideas come from everywhere — and everyone. With a deep commitment to inclusion, the state actively supports founders from underrepresented backgrounds through mentorship, funding, and access to networks.
One of Delaware’s flagship programs is Startup302, a pitch competition that offers non-dilutive funding and resources to women and BIPOC-led startups. Hosted by Delaware Prosperity Partnership and its partners, Startup302 attracts founders from across the U.S. and connects them with investors, accelerators, and a vibrant support community.
Delaware is also home to many Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) which provide mission-driven financing to small businesses that may not qualify for traditional lending. These institutions specialize in supporting minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses with loans, training, and technical assistance to help them scale.
